English Department’s quintessential aim is to apprise students about the importance of English in our lives & to motivate them to pursue the subject ardently. A plethora of activities are conducted every year ranging from quizzes, ppt presentations, brochure making, skits, debate, essay writing, extempore etc. to develop students’ creative expressions & speaking & listening skills.

The Language Department gives students exposure to rich literature in Indian languages. Activities focusing on the acquisition of language skills and their appropriate usage are conducted throughout the academic session. Drama forms an important component of learning. Students have an option to choose Sanskrit or Punjabi as their third language.

The Mathematics Department conducts multifarious activities like debate, quiz, origami, poster-making, sudoko to encourage logical & analytical skills & appreciate the paramount importance of its usefulness for the future. To motivate students & sustain their interest in Mathematics, ‘Ganit Saptah’ is celebrated every year.

The Department of Science focuses on developing a scientific temperament in students. Students are encouraged to pose and pursue questions to put to rest their curiosity in the fields of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Extensive use of technology is made for research as well as for a better understanding of the concepts. Practical based learning is encouraged.

The Computer Science Department engages students in exploratory activities that empower them with the latest ICT skills.

Social Science provides opportunities for students to develop the attitudes, skills and knowledge that will enable them to become active, informed and responsible citizens. The study of Social Science develops attitudes and values of our society. Innovative methods and technologies are used in teaching Social Studies. Collaborative learning through project work on various topics are encouraged.

Home Science is an amalgamation of science and arts and enables one to apply the principles of science in day to day life. It covers areas of nutrition, time management, decision making, care and maintenance of textiles, human development. In a nutshell it prepares an individual to adopt and adjust in their roles of being a family member and a responsible citizen. Not just this, the concept of home science is also transitioning from being subject specific to girls to equally important to boys. Home scientists are creating their niche as nutritionists, food technologists, fashion designers, social revolutionaries, teachers, lecturers and establishing themselves as successful entrepreneurs too.

The Commerce Department emphasizes on imbibing practical skills, analytical skills and problem solving ability. Students are provided with a basic understanding of various principles, procedures and practices related to business. Their thought process is further stimulated by exposing them to frequent brainstorming sessions on important issues and concepts related to national and global financial issues.
